Assisted-living facilities in Florida will be required to have backup generators

 

In the event of a hurricane or other circumstance that knocks out electrical power for an extended period, nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Florida will now be required to have backup power of their own to keep air-conditioning running. These workers are trying to make repairs in Coral Gables after Hurricane Irma in September 2017.
